- Outlook Settings - Titan Server
If you have been notified you that your website has been transferred onto the Titan server then because of security protocol upgrades, whilst you should be able to collect your email with your existing settings you will not be able to send email until you have re-configured the send (SMTP) settings in the email application used to send/receive email on your devices such as PC, mobile phone, PDA etc.The following examples of what to change are for Outlook 2013 on a PC (with an addenda for Outlook 2016) but the general principle of what needs to be changed will be the same for collecting/sending email on all devices. The following examples illustrate what needs to be done.
Open your email account settings, and click 'More Settings'
On the dialog that appears click on the Outgoing Server tab
If it isn't already checked then check the checkbox 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' (make sure it's ticked)
Then click on the 'Advanced' tab
Some older (circa 2007) versions of Outlook just have a checkbox saying 'This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)' If you have that then check the checkbox (tick it)If your Advanced tab offers something like shown below then select TLS from the dropdown menu where it says 'Use the following type of encrypted connection'
Some customers report that selecting 'Auto' has worked for them, so if TLS doesn't work for you then try setting Auto with SMTP port 465.
