Change or Modify Contact Info

In an effort to reduce the number of fraudulent websites on the internet, all domain name authorities have introduced a ruling that a domain name owners contact information must be valid, and is kept current and up to date.

Failure to comply with maintaining valid contact information can result in the domain name becoming suspended (or even deleted) by the registration authority concerned. If your domain name is deleted, it will make it available for someone else to register, so it is very important to ensure that contact information is updated if you change address, email address etc etc.

Updating the contact information is easily achieved via the domain manager in your UKTNET Customer Portal:

Log into the UKTNET Customer Portal https://www.uktnet.co.uk/portal/

  1. Select 'My Domains' from the menu at the top of the page
  2. Locate the domain you want to work with, and click the red 'View' button
  3. Locate the Management Tools section (bottom part of the page)
  4. Click the Contact Information button
  5. Update the records.
  6. Click the 'Save Changes' button.

Note: Under Nominet rules you can change all information except for the Registrant Name for UK domains - If you want to change the registrant name you will need to log into the main Nominet Customer Area and apply for a name change which will be charged by Nominet @ £10 + VAT to do.
